Abstract: | Many information system development (ISD) initiatives fail to deliver the expected advantage. Huge part of these failures are the result of social and organizational factors, not simply technical failures. This article examines the dynamics of these social and organizational factors to better understand the causes of success and failure. Facts are based on data from detailed analysis of an ISD project, the article depicts the ISD process as an emergent and dynamic one, characterized by continuos local adaptations. |
