Abstract: | This article presents the results of a survey of large American and multinational corporations on their ethics statements. It concentrates on four types - value statement, corporate credo, code of ethics and Internet privacy policy - and finds growth in the use of these statements over the last decade. It discusses the external communication of these statements, including the channels that are used for promotion and their intended audiences. The article concludes with various topics for future research. |
