Abstract:The Republic Bank of New York is very successful, and no small role is played by its major shareholder and 'coach', Edmond Safra in the success. The bank is the most productive in the US, being 27th in terms of deposits, but seventh in capital reserves. Another conservative feature of this bank is shipping bank notes around in this age of plastic money. Add to this the flourishing business in precious metals. The 'coach' is a Libanese, who created his kingdom in several steps, starting from a precious metal business.
