| Abstract: | The provision of engineering and consultancy services is discussed as one of the principal elements of technology transferred to developing countries. The recent experiences of selected developing countries are summarized with respect to payments for these imported services. A comprehensive statistical analysis of a broad sample of contacts is presented. The methodological background of the topic is discussed. Forms and methods of payments are listed and analysed. Types of expenses are outlined. Information is presented on relevant government policies. |
