Abstract:One of the Japanese initiatives is defined which aims at enhancing and developing the abilities of human resources. Classroom training aims at imparting knowledge to a group of persons through lectures and discussions. Characteristics and advantages of classroom training shown against other methods such as on-the-job training and self-development. The actual practice of classroom training is presented step by step with the budget it involves, how training needs ought to be defined, the most suitable kind of training and all the different programmes the training allows. This theoretical outline is further illustrated by the monthly training schedule of one of Japan's major corporations: Sumitomo corporation.
