| Abstract: | The formation of some of the most important European Communities (European Coal and Steel Community, European Economic Community, European Free Trade Area etc.) is overviewed. Four scenarios of their future development are specified ("status quo", "gap", "open boundaries", "restricted approach"). A number of consequence of the EC 92 process are predicted. The effects of the post-1992 Internal Market on company strategies are examined. The main influences on Swiss firms are considered, taking into account the degree of their internalization on one hand and the four scenarios of EC development on the other hand. The prospects of exports as well as restraints on them are analyzed. |
