| Abstract: | A prime candidate for automation is the authorization of access to data. Much of the paper burden clogging the administration of computer security springs from having to verify requests for access to data or requests for system privileges. As the ranks of computer users swell, so do the demands for information stored in data bases controlled by others in the organization. Gaining access requires the premission of the owner of the data base. The security administrator has to ensure that requests to those access files are properly approved, before making the necessary changes to the security package used by the organization. |
