Abstract:The last years have seen a growing number of companies decamping from London. The number of moves to the rest of Great Britain are beginning to increase. Brochures, slick videos and advertising campaigns sell the merits of new locations. But there are some hard commercial decisions beside glowing lifestyles. Notably, financial ones, as London and South East rents are well above average. Businesses in the north and Midlans, on the other hand, stand to gain. Those companies moving from the capital find lower property costs wherever they go. This explains the fierce competition between development agencies, corporations and other bodies to win inward investment.
