| Abstract: | Industry/academic collaborative venture in biotechnology is considered. The protein engineering club is presented. The four corporate members of the club are described. Funds allocated by the club is exhibited. The Programme Manager's task is: to coordinate the club's research programme and reconcile the interests of the companies with those of the academics; to monitor the development of the club policy and advise the Steering Group on the relationship of individual projects to policy, and to advise academics on the projects consistent with club policy. Three approaches of the club's research programme are reviewed and some organisational issues are discussed. |
