Abstract: | The actual parental intervention of adolescent TV and VCR use is examined. Regression analysis of a sample of 7th and 10th grades indicates that child variables such as gender, age, media use play an important role in predicting mediation rule-making. Younger children reported higher levels of rule-making. Parents were more likely to set VCR-use for males than females. Higher degree of academic performance predicts more television and VCR use mediation. |
