Abstract:Host of attributes and their relationship to innovativeness have been identified as variables associated with consumer innovation, but characteristics for industrial innovators are difficult to be determined. The process of innovation in industrial markets is analyzed, and six essential differences are identified. Consumer innovations diffuse more quickly, than industrial innovations, and the diffusion of innovation is a shorter process for consumer product adapting than with industrial products. Attention of academic marketers is called on the diffusion of innovations in the industrial marketplace.
