| Abstract: | Sedgefield is an area where unemployment used to be 15 percent of the working population. A change has been brought about by a development programme which helped bring some important companies into the area. One of the latest is the Japanese company Fujitsu which plans to build a semiconductor plant at Sedgefield. This article describes the policy the Japanese company is using to search for suitable sites and to recruit a reliable workforce. |
