Abstract:In the last few years it was obvious that there was an increasing tendency to remunerate managers and professional manpower more and more on performance basis. The remuneration models that were frequently developed as salary models in a short span of time were usually unsatisfactory. The principal deficiencies of these models are indicated and a more favourable profile is outlined. The functions of an effective remuneration system are summarized. Operative and strategic criteria for such a system are specified. Organizational and managerial prerequisites for the implementation of more powerful systems of remuneration are also discussed.
