| Abstract: | This article calls attention to the problems involved in the Channel Tunnel project. It highlights the differences in the French and British employment practices. The differences between the two workforces extend to pay and conditions and also to the areas of health and safety. With the civil engineering work now nearing completion, the problems of redundancy and the labour market have to be tackled as well. |
