Abstract:This article examines factors of diffusion of employment practices from the parent company to the local subsidiaries by using a case study comparison of Italian- and British-based subsidiaries owned by an American multinational companies. Findings show that company-specific features encourage the strategic power of the subsidiarity firm within the wider corporation, consequently complementing institutional host-country features in shaping the diffusion of employment practices abroad.
