Abstract:In the article, the scheduling of the EMU is dealt with. EMU looks to proceed in time-table with or without the UK. Although some uncertainties remain, the certainties are sufficient enough to permit planning. On firm or company level, all of them should prepare for the EMU. There is an outline EMU project for enterprises. The main two areas requiring change are at the interface with stakeholders and in relation to the functions of the enterprise. Other areas are also included. There are distinctions btw. different industries in the pace of transition to the EMU. In overall terms the EMU project is said to be comparable to the Channel Tunnel project: It is likely to cost more and the benefits may take longer to come through than people expect, but once built, the benefits will continue for as long as the structure itself survives.
