Abstract: | This paper analyzes the yield measures for source markets and segments used in tourist industry. The limitations of standard yield measure are considered and new measures of tourism yield, which directly measures the gains to different stakeholders, are developed. The authors present several economy-wide impact measures of yield and test them in a number of Australian inbound markets. The results of the measures are not clear giving mixed signals for public and private sector tourism marketers and planners. |
