| Abstract: | After World War II. the foreign policy and military role of West-Germany was constrained by agreements among the allied powers. Gradually such restrictions were lifted and now the united Germany is a world power. The country is reluctant to assume this role however as the example of Germany's participation in the Gulf war demonstrates. |
