| Abstract: | A. Aquino in his 1987 Weltwirtsch. Archiv article suggested a modification to the traditional Grubel-Lloyd index of intra-industry trade. The author considers this suggestion but rejects it on both theoretical and empirical grounds. The uncorrected Grubel-Lloyd index is the best available measure even if it is very sensitive to the level of aggregation. |
