| Abstract: | The article analyses on a small macroeconomic model the impact of structural changes during the EEC integration process - namely: lifting of protection, changes in factor endowments , technical progress, changes in consumer preferences and terms of trade , scale effects - on real exchange rates. It turns out that changes in real exchange rates are unavoidable and less costly under flexible than under fixed nominal rates. |
