Abstract: | In order to be an effective change agent , a systems analyst must both understand the technical aspects of a system and have the ability to evaluate the consequences of the system for the client. An effective change agent must work to educate both parties, technicians and end users, as to the needs of each other. Based on research results a number of actions and attitudes are listed as success factors during the change process. Using diffusion theory as a framework, five attributes of innovation and five steps of the innovation-decision process are discussed. Seven main roles of the information systems change agent are identified. |
