Abstract:This paper seeks to identify and categorize the attitudes of residents towards tourists, and to indicate the stability of those attitudes over a period of time. The area selected for study was the town of Bakewell in the Peak National Park in the United Kingdom. The paper initially describes the location; second, it briefly reviews the literature; third, outlines the research mrthod used, and then subsequently reports and discusses the results of two surveys.
