Abstract:This article investigates the nature of negative attitudes towards genetically modified (GM) food. Findings show that the attitude predicts strongly intention to buy GM food. Attitude centrality was a moderator of the relationship between universalism values and attitudes towards GM food. Findings also show that individuals with weak attitudes may be more likely to change their attitude than those with strong attitudes.
