Abstract: | Tourism researchers and professionals have disregarded the useful applications offered by virtual reality (VR). With the continual evolution of VR technology, the significance of the applications will increase, and it may prove very valuable in the areas of management, marketing, entertainment, education, accessibility, and heritage. With the use of VR, real visitation can be substituted by virtual experiences, although tourists' attitudes toward authenticity affect the acceptance greatly. Further integration of VR into tourism poses new challenges, but future research can solve them. |
