Abstract: | This paper deals with three hyper-organizational (here as: h-org.) spaces: the skyscraper, the office-park and the resort. It is considered how these spaces are socially produced, how they materialize relations of power and how inhabitants engage in struggle for changing these spaces. Three novels by J.G. Ballard are selected to explore these spaces. It is argued that in these novels, such h-org. environments can be understood as the product of on-going struggle btw. centrally planned and practiced space, and peripheral lived space etc. |
