| Abstract: | The paper investigates the performance of the (ex) East Germany's industry in 1990. In addition to official statistics, it employs the calculations of the Treuhandantstahl. The decline of output is particularly severe in the South, but the privatisation process has already encouraging results. The North has experienced smaller fall in output, but its prospects of privatisation are bleak. |
