| Abstract: | This report studies the European market for seafood and fish with particular reference to five key economies: France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. The data period covered is 1989-1993 for current trends and 1993-1998 for forecasts. The report covers all fresh fish, crustacea and molluscs, smoked fish and other processed fish products such as fish spreads. Canned and frozen products are specifically excluded from the scope of the report. The international marketplace for seafood and fish faces the growing dilemma of rising demand for the product but declining stocks of the natural resource. |
