Abstract: | Electronic negotiations have gained growing attention in electronic markets theory and practice. The authors develop a classification framework for electronic negotiations. The authors show the limitations of today's concepts of electronic negotiations and formulate propositions about necessary functional elements of negotiation components for business-to-business marketplaces. With a growing number of market transactions to be supported electronically, the authors expect marketplaces that will handle more types of transactions than we find today. The authors hold that this will include bilateral, semi-automated, multi-attribute and highly integrated electronic negotiations. |
