Abstract:The two best methods developed by humanity for engaging constructively (hereafter as: e-g. c-ly.) with conflict are arguably negotiation (hereafter as: negn.) and nonviolent action (as: nv-actn). This article deals with the interface btw. these fields including their mutual commitment in e-g. c-ly. with conflict, and the concern both methods share for leverage, power, and strategic preparation and action. It is emphasized how the two fields have synergistic qualities when utilized together in the same conflict. Based on examples from a diverse set of conflicts, the explored overlap sets an important base for the future convergence of the two fields.
