Abstract:The authors consider the link between training practices and organizational performance. They then try to widen the empirical literature on the subject, and respond to the criticism that similar earlier studies have received. In order to achieve these goals, a theoretical model including hypothesis of a ‘cascade-type relationship’ between four different types of organizational performance, is used. The data gathered from a sample of Spanish firms indicates that the training policy of a company influences significantly on the company’s performance.
