Abstract:In this article the author focuses on examining the internal and external factors that contributed to the decline of Dunlop. The author discusses the history and strategy of Dunlop and examines what caused the decline of Dunlop. The author suggests that one key factor that contributed to DunlopĀ“s decline was the failure of management. The management according to the author failed to develop appropriate strategies which led to significant losses which in an industry that already had overcapacity in manufacturing had a serious effect. In addition the complacency and inertia of management in general where a major factor in the decline.
