Abstract: | This paper focuses on one of the newer forms of software piracy, called "digital piracy". The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is used as a framework in attempting to determine factors influencing the digital piracy. Planned behavioural factors in addition to past piracy behaviour (here as: p-p-behvr.) and moral obligation are found to influence an individual's intention to pirate digital material. Attitude, p-p-behvr., perceived behaviour control, and moral obligation explained 71 percent of the intention to pirate variance. |
