Abstract:A training program of Unilever's potential technical managers is shown in an era in which subordinates no longer accept management decisions without questions. As part of the management training programme a week-long study group was introduced, assigned to the real task of actual changes in the company's personnel management policies needed to meet expected changes in the social and economic climate. Trainees have learned that (1) learning is continuous, a part of the work; (2) group learning is possible and desirable; (3) people learn in different ways; (4) managing technology involves managing a group of people.
