| Abstract: | Manufacturing systems have always been characterized by complexity, high capital cost and a certain degree of monetary risk. There has been increasing interest in methods by which a system's performance can be determined prior to committed large sums of capital. Computer based simulation is one such technique. The authors describe an approach to categorising and selecting simulation software tools. |
