Abstract: | Increased competition, especially from foreign competitors, and the rising cost of technology have forced companies to seek out strategic alliances. A growing number of firms have learned to reap the benefits - while avoiding the pitfalls - of partnering. The case of the computer industry is analyzed. Strategic alliances have become an integral part of this industry as companies realized that they could not do everything all by themselves. Business plans now include building partnerships as a way to meet corporate goals. |
