| Abstract: | In common with the rest of the corporation, IBM United Kingdom needed to take a radical action between 1991 and 1993 to restore profitability. The actions taken included restructuring into a federation of businesses, changing the management system and increasing the focus on customer responsiveness and quality. This article describes the strategic management approach that was developed by IBM in the United Kingdom to complement the other changes. |
