Abstract:In the past five year's Intel's CEO Andy Grove has redefined his company from a maker of chips into an industry leader. From here on, Intel will create the demand by creating new users and uses for microprocessors. The only threat is, that the market growth slows. That is one reason Intel needs to make sure that PC remains a cutting edge device. Intel now owns shares in over 50 companies and the total market value of it's investments exceeds half a billion $. There has been some tension between Intel and Microsoft, but they still do generally cooperate in trying to stimulate demand for PCs. When it comes to Internet software, Intel works as closely with Netscape as it does with Microsoft.
