Abstract:Disillusioned graduates are leaving their first jobs after universities earlier than ever. The reasons behind this trend are complex, but, as the author discovers, a handful of large companies are trying to reverse it by offering undergraduates shorter, highly structured work placements to close the gap between the expectations of both parties. Many employees are spending millions on graduate recruitment policies only to say goodbye to a large and increasing proportion in the following three to four years.
