Abstract:The industrial economy in Sweden is to a large extent controlled by two groups, one of them centered around the Wallenberg family, the other around an investment corporation and the country´s largest bank. Such organizations are not a peculiarity of Sweden since they are spread throughout the world, yet they have scarcely been recognized in research. The author develops four hypotheses concerning the existence of business groups and test them on these Swedish business groups that were found to provide both government and corporate economy with governance solutions.
