Abstract:Data from surveys conducted in the late 1980s on the entrepreneurial career aspirations and destinations of university and college students is re-examined and compared in this article. Recent graduates, when left to their own devices, tend to develop small and unimaginative businesses. The nature of the business started is significantly determined by the nature of the course taken, and is often professionally and traditionally orientated.
