Abstract: | Casual modelling has become a prominent tool of data analysis in marketing research. In this context, methods of iterative model selection are becoming common practice, although theoretical knowledge with respect to these methods is rather scarce. Against this background, the article analyzes methods for iterative model selection available in the computer programs LISREL and EQS, respectively. The authors suggest a new framework for applying such methods. It is demonstrated that this concept enhances the validity of the results significantly so that the suggested approach is of considerable importance for application of causal modelling in marketing. |
