Abstract: | The present study has investigated the exporting problems encountered by indigenous export-manufacturing firms from an ethnocentric perspective, in the context of a relatively small European country. Export destination was standardized, owing to the fact that different overseas national markets may affect perceptions of exporting problems in a different fashion. A robust eight-factor problem structure was formulated, by weighting the intensity of each export problem item by its perceived importance. The main contribution of the study to export marketing theory lies in the empirical exploration of the relationships between perceptions of exporting problems and the organizational characteristics of firm size and export market experience. |
