Abstract: | This article continues the consumer morality studies tradition by focusing on the dishonesty of insurance customers. To gain a wider perspective, the paper drafts a sociology of insurance customer morality. Outlines of micro-level, meso-level and macro-level moral sociologies of insurance fraud are included, as well as a discussion of moral heterogeneity and a critical understanding of deviance. Some empirical research is made with data from a Norwegian-German pilot study. |
