Abstract: | This study describes how simulation is used to characterize the support infrastructure for a vitrification plant , providing the basis for a more rigorous cost estimate than previous. The paper improves understanding of the vitrification process and reduced cost uncertainties. A huge cost savings potential was found through wise selection and proportioning of additives. Simulation and optimization are a valuable part of the decision support system for selection of waste remediation alternatives. |
