| Abstract: | This article focuses on standards (hereafter as: stnds.) as particular form of regulation in international food trade. It is discussed on how stnds. and standardization work increased in importance after the U.N. food stnds. agency Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) was institutionally linked to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 1995. CAC elaborates voluntary food stnds., while WTO refers to negotiated mandatory trade rules (original in Norwegian). |
