| Abstract: | The paper provides baseline emissions in 2010 for all Annex 1 regions, effective emissions reductions in all Kyoto-constrained Annex 1 regions and the size of hot air for those Kyoto-unconstrained Annex 1 regions. The next sections discuss the analytical framework to study the effects of non-competitive supply behavior in the absence of the US ratification under Annex 1 emissions trading and describe the authors' partial equilibrium model based on the marginal abatement costs of seven Annex 1 regions, with the mathematical exposition of the model. Then the paper presents the policy scenarios examined, and discuss all simulation results. In the last sections the paper provides a sensitivity analysis of the authors' findings. The paper ends with the main conclusions and hints for further research. |
