| Abstract: | Overall previous research has found assessment centers to have low construct validity. Criticism of the analytical procedures used in such research has stimulated a reevaluation of this issue. This study examined two variables whose influence on assessment center construct validity has been neglected: assessor type (psychologist or manager) and the number of distinguishable dimension categories required to adequately represent the ratings. Theoretical and practical implications of the fiindings are discussed. |
