Abstract: | Individual focused stress management interventions (SMI) target individual workers and generally seek to enhance their ability to cope with occupational strain. There is a need to understand more of the factors governing the effectiveness of individual focused SMI's in the workplace. This article examines research contrasting different approaches to stress management. A framework is proposed to help guide future research into these issues. |
