| Abstract: | A corporate identity (henceforth as: c-id.) expresses a set of attributes ascribed by senior managers to their organizations. Using as illustration a longitudinal study of successive changes in the c-id. of a Brazilian telecommunications company, this paper develops a political analysis of c-id. and its development. There is suggested a cyclical model in which c-id. definition and redefinition involve power relations, resource mobilization and struggles for legitimacy. |
