Abstract: | This article reviews developments in the field of service-learning (henceforth as: s-l.), both in terms of general management education and business ethics specific courses, during the past 10 years. Based on the 1996 Journal of Business Ethics Special issue on s-l. as a benchmark, several accomplishments are presented etc. Finally, three issues are presented as next steps for s-l. authors and practitioners in moving forward into the next decade: 1. designing effective and sustainable university/community partnerships, 2. addressing problems stemming from the conspiracy of courtesy, and 3. optimizing the intersection btw. online learning and service-learning. |
